A Study on the Effect of Childcare Teacherson the Perception of Child Abuse: Focused on Sejong and Chungnam Areas

Abstract
The purpose of this study is to analyze the factors affecting the perception of child abuse for childcare teachers located in Sejong city and Chungnam. To this end, a survey was conducted on 216 childcare teachers, and the collected data were analyzed with the SPSS 27.0 program. As a result, the perception of child abuse by childcare teachers was higher as they got married, obtained a certificates at a 2.3-year university or higher, organized classed by age, observed legal standards of child ratio, and had longer working career. In addition, the factors affecting childcare teachers' perception of child abuse were higher as the legal standards of the teacher- to-child ratio were followed, the higher the class strategy and classroom management, the higher the relationship with parents, the lower the working environment. Summing up the results of this study, it was verified that the teacher efficacy and working environment of child care teachers are factors that can reduce and prevent child abuse, suggesting that it is necessary to develop programs to improve the working environment and enhance teacher efficacy.
